Convergence of a finite volume scheme for the incompressible fluids

چکیده
We consider a finite volume scheme for the two-dimensional incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. We use a triangular mesh. The unknowns for the velocity and pressure are respectively piecewise constant and affine. We use a projection method to deal with the incompressibility constraint. The stability of the scheme has been proven in [15]. We infer from it its convergence. In this research, a new multidimensional characteristic based upwind scheme for the solution of incompressible Navier-Stokes equations is presented. The incompressible flow equations have been coupled each other by the aid of artificial compressibility method. Unlike to the traditional characteristic based (CB) schemes, the present scheme is genuinely multidimensional in that the local charact...

This paper presents a simple and computationally-efficient algorithm for solving steady two-dimensional subsonic and transonic compressible flow over an airfoil. This work uses an interactive viscous-inviscid solution by incorporating the viscous effects in a thin shear-layer. Boundary-layer approximation reduces the Navier-Stokes equations to a parabolic set of coupled, non-linear partial diff...
